Larry Dean Harris passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, June 9th, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arlene R. Harris at the home.

Larry was born to parents, Aubrey L. and Edna J. Harris February 5th, 1946. Settling in the Newman Lake area, he spent his childhood running and playing in the woods, and fishing at the lake with his brother Cecil, niece Oleta Cook, and nephews Aubrey, Delbert, and Dennis Hay.

Larry graduated from East Valley High School in 1964, served seven years...

Larry Dean Harris passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, June 9th, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arlene R. Harris at the home.

Larry was born to parents, Aubrey L. and Edna J. Harris February 5th, 1946. Settling in the Newman Lake area, he spent his childhood running and playing in the woods, and fishing at the lake with his brother Cecil, niece Oleta Cook, and nephews Aubrey, Delbert, and Dennis Hay.

Larry graduated from East Valley High School in 1964, served seven years in the U.S. Army, from October 1966 thru October 1973. Stationed at Ft. Wolters, Texas and Ft. Carson, Colorado. He then worked as a journeyman carpenter out of local #98. He finished his construction career working at the V.A. Hospital in the carpenter and locksmith shops, retiring in January of 1996. He then owned and operated a barber shop in Mead, Washington until March 2009.

Larry is survived by four sons that meant the world to him, and he loved so much! Steven W. Harris, wife Christine of Newman Lake, Washington, Jerry L. Harris, wife Joy of Spokane, Washington, John (Michael) Harris, wife Brenda of Spokane, Washington, and Jeffrey A. Harris, wife Deborah of Spokane, Washington. He is also survived by his 12 beloved grandchildren and two great grandchildren whom he loved so much and was so proud of: Danielle Reimers, husband James and their son, Titus Matthew Reimers of Spokane, Washington, Zachary Harris of Spokane Valley, Washington, Emily Rollings, husband Trevor of Spokane Valley, Washington, Wayne Harris, wife Emily and their daughter, Aubrey Ann Harris of Clayton, Washington, Rae Ann Harris, Jolene Harris, Amanda Harris, Mark Harris, Wyatt Harris, Tyler Harris, Lily Rose Harris, Josie Harris, all of Spokane, Washington. Also, one sister, Ruth Wood, husband Richard of Atkinson, New Hampshire. Special cousin, Elaine Bailey, husband Keith of Yakima, Washington. Special friends Jim and Kathleen McGee of Spokane, Washington and Mary and Matthew Matthews of Olympia, Washington. Various other cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey L. Harris, Edna J. Harris (Langley), two sisters, Mary A. Hay and Bertie L. Barnum, two brothers, Hubert F. Harris, Cecil W. Harris.

Larry's passing has left a hole in our hearts that only God can heal, but we have God's assurance and promise, absent from the body, present with the Lord. May God bless each of you who know him, or someone in his family.

Larry was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he enjoyed worship and fellowship with his church family.

There will be a memorial service at Faith Baptist Church, 2804 E. Euclid Avenue, Spokane, Washington, 99207 on June 26, 2017, at 11:00 AM, followed by a service at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 West Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Washington 99022 on June 26, 2017 at 3:00 PM.
Pastor Greg Boyle will be officiating.
